Nothing but a semi-normal girl, her so-so singing voice, and her boring life being shared with anyone who cares.

Hmmm....
Is it just me, or does the peace sign mean nothing anymore? At seemingly every photo opportunity, celebrities whip them out just to show off how "awesome" they are. It bugs the CRAP out of me. The peace sign should mean what it originally did, instead of just a symbol of coolness. It appears on everything from t-shirts to ugg boots and even baby blankets. It's sickening. You guys with me on this one?

Too Long
It's been waaaaaaaaaaay too long since I put up a post. Solo news:
I got the solo! The problem is that three other people did, too. She turned it into a quartet. I was so pissed off. Concert Wednesday.
There's only two weeks left of school....still too much. I'd really like to stop having homework.....
Welll not much else. Bye, nobody.

P.S.
Arriba! It's Cinco de Mayo! I don't even know why we have this holiday, but it reminds me of tacos, so I like it.
Nothing Yet....
Still no results from the solo tryouts. My choir teacher says that she'll tell us all tomorrow. I can hardly keep myself in my shorts from the anticipation! I think I may actually stand a chance this time! I got several nice comments with dollops of loveliness on top on my facebook status about it, so I must've done at least okay!
Not much else going on. Just a busy weekend ahead of me.

Magical Singing Opportunity!
Today in my vocal music class, we had auditions for a solo in our choir performance, (May 19th, I'll keep you posted) and I auditioned! It took me about 15 minutes of extra convincing to actually get myself to even do it. I counted, and I think I've sung in front of a group of people at least eight times. One of those times was for another audition. I think I did okay, and I'm pretty sure I did better than the other girl in my hour that tried out. Apparently, six people in the other hour tried out. My friend Mariah said she tried out, but I'm not really worried about her. I haven't heard her sing before, but I have heard her rap. Let's just say that she's no Eminem.
But anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying to Paul that I get this solo! I want it soooo much! Every single solo or part I auditioned for, I never got it. I guess I only have the capability, not the nerves. When I get too nervous my voice is sort of ruined. Let me see if I can scrounge up a list of performance opportunities I took but didn't succeed in anyway.
Third Grade Solar System Play (tried out for Venus, got Earth.)
Fourth Grade Retro Oldies Play (Tried out for "Johnny Angel" solo, lost it to two popular girls.)
Sixth Grade Talent Show Audition (tried out, didn't make it, pissed because someone who was a terrible singer got in and I didn't)
Sixth Grade Choir Solo Audition (just plain didn't get the flipping thing)
Choir Performance Solo (we'll seeeeeeee!)

And Sunday, Not as Good as Saturday...
Now that Saturday is over, it's time for Sunday. Personally, I immensly dislike Sundays. They have the day off quality of a Saturday, but they also have the impending doom of the next day, which is a Monday. Not cool.
At least yesterday was okay. Amanda came over, like I said. We went out to a few places and got lunch. I've realized that I'm probably the only girl in the world who practically hyperventilates at the record store because she can't decide which Beatles album to buy. I had to tell myself that I'll probably end up buying all of them eventually anyway, so why does it matter? After that, we went to eat at Winstead's. It's one of my favorite restaurants, partly because the food is awesome, and also because it's 50s styled. I love all things 50's and 60's. I got a chocolate malt. I practically sucked my eyeballs into my head trying to get some throught the straw that first time. It's pretty difficult.
And now, to sit and eat Sour Patch Kids.

It's a Saturday!
Today is a Saturday! I think that if days were people, Saturday would be the most beautiful and popular girl at school. It's really nice to have a day where you don't have school, and you don't have to worry about having school the next day.
I think I'll spend this wonderful Saturday eating bagels, not using my legs, and watching School House Rock videos for something to do.
Amanda the Soprano is coming over later. Maybe she'll have some confessions for us.
Somebody? Anybody?
